Gumasa Beach: Faraway Haven Down South

Glan, SARANGANI
Date: MAR 16, 2015

Sarangani is one of the southernmost province on the main island of Mindanao, and it is divided into two parts – Eastern Sarangani and Western Sarangani. This province is rich in natural wonders but because of how remote Sarangani is, only a few people braved to visit. While surfing the internet, I saw an article about Gumasa Beach in Glan, Sarangani, and according to online reviews, the beach is truly amazing. That’s why I decided to visit this place and see it for myself.

Bukidnon: Braving the Long and Winding Road

Malaybalay, Valencia & Maramag, BUKIDNON
Date: MAR 15-16, 2015

At 10,498.59 km², Bukidnon is known as the third largest province in the Philippines. Because of how huge this province is, the journey tonight might be long and tiring. Good thing that the bus was comfortable enough for me to sleep (thanks to its cool airconditioning system), and there were TV sets and reclining seats as well. Hopefully, I won’t get bored.

Maria Cristina: The Mighty Cascade

Iligan, LANAO DEL NORTE
Date: MAR 15, 2015

The city of Iligan in Lanao del Norte is known as the “City of Majestic Falls.” A number of waterfalls can be found within the city, and one of them is the famous Maria Cristina Falls. Today, I will try my best to get to this waterfall that I’ve only seen on my Sibika at Kultura textbook during elementary days.

Laguindingan: Gateway to the Land of Promise

Laguindingan, MISAMIS ORIENTAL
Date: MAR 15, 2015

The day I’ve been waiting for is finally here – the day that I will visit the island of Mindanao! I booked this flight a few months ago, and because of my excitement, I wasn’t able to sleep last night. The highlight of this trip will be Trail Insanity’s climb to the summit of Mount Apo. I can’t wait to get there, and now I wonder, what could happen through out this southern journey?

Mount Talamitam: Mount Batulao's Twin

Nasugbu, BATANGAS
Date: MAR 07, 2015

Next week, I will be heading to Mindanao to climb Mt. Apo, But before that, I need to do some practice. I looked for mountains near Metro Manila that can be scaled in one day. While doing my research, I found this mountain located in Nasugbu, Batangas – and thought that it would be a perfect place for me to train. I, along with two of my officemates, will be climbing Mount Batulao’s twin – Mount Talamitam.
